Zahi Hawass to Mohamed Salah: “You have a duty towards your country to participate in Egyptian antiquities recovery campaign”

 

Acclaimed Egyptian Egyptologist Zahi Hawass said that colonization has lead to the sumggle of countless numbers of Egyptian artifacts throughout the decades.

 

Museums in Europe and the United States still practice colonialism by buying stolen artifacts, which encourages thieves to plunder ancient sites.

 

"Therefore, I launched this international campaign to recover the Rosetta Stone and the Dendera Zodiac. The horrifying announcement that 2000 artifacts have been stolen from the British Museum the matter that made this petition a more crucial and pressing matter" Hawass added.

 

The acclaimed Egyptologist sent a message to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, saying "You have a duty towards your country to participate in the campaign to recover Egyptian antiquities and adopt the signature campaign to return the Rosetta Stone."
