Egypt’s I PROMISE YOU PARADISE receives the Rail d’Or for Best Short Film at Cannes Film Festival

After its world premiere within the Critics’ Week section at the 76th Cannes Film Festival,  Morad Mostafa’s I PROMISE YOU PARADISE is coming home with the Rail d’Or award for best short film in the Critics’ Week competition.
 
The Rail d’Or is a prestigious award given by a jury of 100 film critics. The most well known directors who previously won this award before are Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and Julia Ducournau.
 
Meanwhile, Cairo International Film Festival announced the selection of I PROMISE YOU PARADISE to participate in the short film competition within the festival’s 45th edition (November 15 to 24).
 
Following a violent incident; Eissa, a 17 years old African migrant in Egypt is in a quest against time to save his loved ones whatever it takes.
 
I PROMISE YOU PARADISE stars Kenyi Marcellino and Kenzy Mohamed. The crew are DOP Mostafa El Kashef, Editor Mohamed Mamdouh. The film is written by Morad Mostafa and Sawsan Yusuf, and directed by Morad Mostafa. The film is a co-production between Red Star Films, Bonanza Films, Sea Cinema Productions, Shift Studios, Film Clinic and QAA' 23.
