"El Kateeba 101" ( Battalion 101) series sheds the light on the martyrdom of the great Egyptian woman from Sinai Maha Abou Kor’ie ( Wafaa Amer) who is the first woman to be killed by the terrorist group Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis in 2015, because she was helping the Egyptian army to arrest the takfiris.

She was kidnapped from her home, a day later, her body was dumped in front of her house.

The brave Maha had five children, the oldest of whom was 11 years old and the youngest was two years old.

Her eldest son has also been kidnapped and was tortured by members of Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis before his mother martyrdom.

In its war with terrorism, Egypt has presented not only male martyrs but female martyrs as well like Maha who stood bravely in front of Takfiris and sacrificed her life to protect her homeland and people.

The scene of the great Maha Abo Kor'ie's martyrdom was extremely heartfelt especially with the genuine performance of veteran actress Wafaa Amer,  the well-written script of Eiad Saleh and directed by the talented Mohamed Salama.

"El Kateeba 101" took us back to the year 2014 and introduced us to how Battalion 101 works to combat terrorism and fight takfiris in Sinai.

The series highlighted the moment our brave Egyptian soldiers were martyred in “Karam Al Qawadis” ambush in Sheikh Zweid.
