CAIRO – 17 July: The Cairo Opera House's annual Summer Festival is soon underway, having been inaugurated by the Chairman of the National Cultural Centre, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem and head of the Opera House, Dr. Magdy Saber. The festival will be starting at 8pm on July 20 and finishing on August 2.

Featuring an array of rich musical performances, the Summer Festival provides an unconventional experience for audiences, serving both to educate and entertain. Amongst the stars present at the festival is Egyptian musician Mohammed Abbas, who won the MIMA award for 'Best Singer' in 2016. Also participating is singer Rana Samaha, who alongside Abbas are performing for the first ever time at the Opera House, their aim being to support young up and coming artists.

The festival will be at Damanhur, in the Al-Beheira Governorate. Performing at the Damanhur Opera House are the works of famous singers such as Umm Kalthoum, Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Abdel Halim Hafez and Faiza Ahmed. Carmen Soliman will also be performing with her ensemble.
