The British Ambassador to Egypt Gareth Bayley recently announced the appointment of Ahmed Hatem as the British Embassy’s Social Affairs Ambassador in a video published on the embassy and Hatem’s social media accounts.

In the video, Hatem announced the launch of the British Embassy’s “For Her-With Her” Fund, which supports Egypt’s efforts to end gender-based violence.

The For Her, With Her Fund has two main axes: Prioritizing prevention by addressing the root causes — along with reducing the prevalence and tolerance — of gender-based violence and supporting survivors by strengthening availability and specialism in service provision for survivors of gender-based violence.

The fund will provide grants to women-focused organizations or NGOs operating in Egypt with the express purpose of eliminating gender-based violence, supporting survivors, and reaching all segments of society, including rural and underserved communities.

Organizations can receive these grants by submitting proposals detailing their strategy or action plan to address the objectives of the fund.

Proposal submissions will remain open till January 9th, 2023, with accepted proposals expected to be announced on March 5th, 2023.
