CAIRO – 5 December 2022: On December 6, Sotheby’s Auction House in London will hold an auction displaying a collection of ancient Egyptian and Roman antiquities for sale, in addition to other antiques.

 

 

 

 

The auction will be held under the title "Ancient Sculpture and Artwork Part Two".

Among the antiques offered for sale is an Egyptian porcelain statue of a dwarf, dating back to the 26/30 Dynasty, 664-342 BC. Its price is estimated between £30,000 and £50,000.

 

 

 

 

In addition, among the artifacts for sale is a polychrome and gilded Egyptian cartoon mask for a woman, from the Roman era, dating back to around the first century AD. It is estimated to fetch between £150,000 and £250,000. 

 

 

 

 

Moreover, among the exhibits is an Assyrian plaster alabaster panel commissioned by the reputed Assyrian king Tukulti-Ninurta I (c. 1233-1197 BC) along with a stunning Roman marble bust of Emperor Antoninus Pius.

 

 

 

 

These important works are joined by a variety of Egyptian stone, faience, and bronze sculptures, as well as a group of Greek vases.
