Special exhibition on Chinese civilization to be held in Mohammad Ali Palace on Nov. 17

CAIRO – 16 November 2022: The Palace of Prince Mohammad Ali in Manial is hosting the opening of the “Celadon Exhibition - Green Ceramics - Zhejiang and Chinese Civilization” on November 17 at 12 pm.

 

 

 

 

The exhibition will run for two weeks.

 

 

 

 

According to the Chinese Cultural Center, the exhibition will include nine pieces of antique ceramic products discovered in Egypt, 28 pieces of contemporary Chinese ceramic works, and another exhibition of pictures of Celadon throughout history.

 

 

 

 

A lecture will also be given by Fathi Abdel Wahab on the techniques of manufacturing ceramics in China and their similarities and differences from Islamic ceramics, and a series of short documentaries on green ceramics [Celadon] will be screened.

 

 

 

 

The Prince Mohammad Ali Palace Museum in Manial is one of the most beautiful and important historical museums in Egypt. The museum tells the story of an important period in Egypt's modern history and is unique in its magnificent architectural design.

 

 

 

 

It was built in a modern Islamic style adapted from the Persian and Mamluk schools of art. It also includes some Syrian, Moroccan and Andalusian motifs, and the Ottoman spirit prevails inside the museum. Therefore, it is considered a comprehensive art school for the elements of various Islamic arts.
