CAIRO – 10 November 2022: The Sharm El-Sheikh Museum received a number of delegations participating in the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP27), namely the President of the State of Comoros and his wife and the delegation accompanying them and the wife of the Prime Minister of the Bahamas.

The officials were received by the General Supervisor of the museum Miriam Edward.

 

 

 

 

The Sharm El-Sheikh Museum Director Mohamed Hassanein accompanied the official delegations on a tour inside the various museum halls, where he gave a presentation of the history of the museum and its archaeological holdings.

The guests also visited the temporary exhibition currently being held in the museum under the title "Egypt and its Environmental Legacy", which sheds light on the ancient Egyptians’ interest in the environment and their role in preserving it.

 

 

 

 

Moreover, the guests expressed their fascination with the idea of the exhibition and the awareness and knowledge of the ancient Egyptians, especially in the measures they took to preserve the environment and how the Nile River was a lifeline to them.
