CAIRO – 13 October 2022: Sotheby's International Auctions in London is preparing to hold an auction titled "Arts of the Middle East" on October 19.

The auction is set to include the works of a large number of Arab plastic artists, including Egyptian artists.

Among the paintings offered for sale is an untitled painting by Egypt’s artist Salah Taher. The painting is estimated to fetch £6,000 to  £8,000.

Salah Taher is one of the most famous plastic artists in Egypt (1911 - 2007). At the beginning, Salah Taher represented the Realist school in art. He soon shifted to the Abstract school, but he did not completely abandon the Realist school.

In many of his paintings and works, Taher tried to blend the two artistic schools. His product, in one of the stages of his life, was called the Intermediate Stage of Abstraction.
