Shahinaz Elakkad is the woman behind Lagoonie Film Production, one of the youngest and most successful production companies that made quite a buzz in the film, television and entertainment industry recently. 

With flying colors, Shahinaz Elakkad summed up 2021 with pictures that headlined the news, including Amr Salama’s light-hearted drama Barra El Manhag, which landed its world premiere at the closing ceremony of the Red Sea International Film Festival and received wide acclaim from critics and audiences and garnered several awards.

Given all her hard efforts, Shahinaz's career continues to boom through a chain of remarkable accomplishments over the past five years.

Currently, She is working on the remake of the classic film Anf w Thalath Oyoun (A Nose and Three Eyes), based on renowned Egyptian novelist Ihsan Abdel Quddous' masterpiece with the same name.

 

 

Shahinaz has revealed that the film is taking on a new perspective and a different style than any other adaptation of the novel.

It looks like she’s got a lot on her plate; especially with four mega projects cooking; Inshallah It's A Boy- A Chapter From The Fabled Life Of Nawal, Alaam, El Shetan Mosh Shater based on a novel by George Azmy, and Sa’et Egaba which should be released soon.

Her portfolio includes well-known films like Amira, by Mohamed Diab, which Lagoonie co-distributed and won 3 awards, the Palestinian film Huda’s Salon by Hany Abu-Assad, the Jordanian film The Alleys by Bassel Ghandour, Daughters of Abdul-Rahman by Zaid Abu Hamdan, and Feathers by Omar El Zohairy as well as the short film Shoka we Sekina, starring Menna Shalaby, Eyad Nassar and Asser Yassin. 

Founded in 2017, Shahinaz Elakkad’s Lagoonie Film Production produced several successful movies; to mention but a few, Fare’ Khebra, Ras El Sana, A’az El Weld, and wrapped up shootingCairo Mecca, by Hani Khalifa, starring Mona Zaki, Mohamed Mamdouh, and Shereen Reda. In addition to films, it produced a number of remarkable TV series including Ana Shahira ... Ana Elkha’en, and Nemra Etnein. 

With the aim to develop the film and TV industry in Egypt and the Arab world, Shahinaz Elakkad is continuing to make high-quality films and TV series that address fresh and original topics in order to put the Arab film and TV industry on the international map.
