CAIRO – 20 June 2022: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Supreme Council of Antiquities, in cooperation with the French Institute of Oriental Archeology (IFAO), issued a new volume under the title "The Science of Ancient Egyptian Materials & Technologies".

Supervisor of the Central Training Unit at the ministry Basem Gehad said that the volume is a product of the first scientific conference that was held in November 2017 under the same title at the Mohammad Ali Palace Museum in Manial.

 

 

 

 

Gehad added the volume includes a number of research papers on the importance of archaeometry in the field of archeology and the importance of physics and applied chemistry and linking them to archeology.

 

 

 

 

It is worth noting that 200 researchers from various archaeological institutes, and Egyptian and foreign universities participated in the conference “The Science of Ancient Egyptian Materials & Technologies.” It was an opportunity for researchers and specialists of the field to meet, and discuss the technology of materials and industries in ancient Egypt and its development through the ages.
