Egypt’s ‘Follow The Sun’ promotional campaign named ‘Campaign of the Month’ by AdColony - Min. of Tourism & Antiquities

CAIRO – 8 June 2022: The “Follow the Sun” promotional campaign, launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities represented by the General Egyptian Authority for Tourism Promotion in mid-March, was named the best tourism advertisement for the month of May 2022 in Europe, Middle East and Africa, according to AdColony platform, one of the largest advertising networks on various mobile applications.

 

 

 

 

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities had launched this campaign on CNN International and on social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat and AdColony, in a number of targeted countries, namely the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Italy, to promote the Egyptian tourist destinations during the summer season of 2022.

 

 

 

 

CEO of the General Egyptian Authority for Tourism Promotion Amr el-Qadi explained that this campaign achieved great success and unprecedented numbers on the AdColony platform, pointing out that it reached more than 6.5 million users of the application, and achieved nearly 5.2 million full views.

 

 

 

 

The promotional film achieved full viewership rates of about 95 percent, while the average viewership rate globally is 80 percent. Meanwhile, the rate of interaction with the promotional campaign reached 22 percent, and the global average rate of interaction is 10 percent.

 

 

 

 

It is worth noting that this promotional campaign succeeded in achieving nearly 68.6 million views on social media platforms in the targeted countries, and reached nearly 495.3 million users.

 

 

 

 

The promotional campaign also contributed to an increase in utilizing online search engines for tourism and travel to Egypt on the internet by 121 percent compared to the same period in 2021. In the United Kingdom, rates increased by 134 percent, in Germany by 212 percent, in Italy by 262 percent and in France by 110 percent, compared to the previous year.
