CAIRO – 28 April 2022: In continuation of the promotional campaign launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities at the beginning of April to ease the procedures for obtaining a tourist visa to Egypt, the ministry launched another campaign on April 28  for a period of three weeks on various social media platforms in a number of different countries, including the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Algeria, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia.

Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Promotion Lamia Kamel explained that launching this campaign comes in light of the ministry's keenness to familiarize tourists of different nationalities with the new procedures for obtaining a tourist visa to Egypt, which contributes to more inbound tourism to Egypt.

It is worth noting that the number of nationalities that can obtain a tourist visa upon arrival at the Egyptian ports has reached more than 180 nationalities, provided that the passport contains a valid and used visa for one of the following countries: England, America, Schengen [European Union], Japan, New Zealand, Canada  and Australia.

The number of nationalities that can obtain the emergency tourist visa at the Egyptian ports or electronically has reached 78 nationalities, while making visas obtainable for some additional nationalities in case of direct access to the cities of Sharm El-Sheikh and Taba, provided that they have a return ticket, a reservation for residency and a credit card, or what covers their stay in Egypt.
