CAIRO – 13 July 2017: Famous Arabic novel ‘A Jewish Girl in My Heart’ will be displayed as a theater performance on July 12 at Romance Theater in downtown Cairo.

Directed by Mahmod Abdul Aziz, the play is based on the best seller novel written by Khawla Hamdi. A production group called ‘Fan Mahwag’ will be hosting the play.

‘A Jewish Girl in My Heart’ has been played before in many theaters, such as Hosabeer Theatre near Galaa Street.

The novel is about a young orphan Muslim girl, Reem, who was forced to leave her homeland of Tunisia to live with a Jewish family in southern Lebanon, where she becomes a friend of a Jewish girl, Nada, from a Muslim father and a Jewish mother.

Nada falls in love with a Muslim jihadist boy, who loses his memory during one of his resistance operations. At the end, Nada converts to Islam, convincing her family to do so as well, and she marries Ahmed.

It discusses important issues about religion and war, as well as love. It reflects religious coexistence by showing how Christians, Muslims and Jews lived together and married each other.
