CAIRO – 13 April 2022: The Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction has announced the shortlisted novels for its 2022 edition, in which 13 historical novels compete in the United Kingdom, to win the prize of £25,000.

 

 

 

 

The winner will be announced at the Borders Book Festival in Melrose, from June 16-19.

 

 

 

 

It is noteworthy that Walter Scott was born on August 12, 1771, and passed away on September 21, 1832.  He was a Scottish novelist, playwright and poet. His works are still read today in Europe, North America, and Australia.

 

 

 

 

Scott is the author of the well-known folk novel Ivanhoe, which tells the story of the knight, Wilfred Ivanhoe, who descends from one of the last noble families.
