CAIRO – 10 April 2022: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Arab Society for Science, Culture and Development are organizing a celebration and an exhibition under the title "Ramadan Recounted in Cairo".

 

 

 

 

The celebration and exhibition will be held on April 12 at 8 p.m. in Al-Sennari Archaeological House. The celebration is held in cooperation with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, the General Authority for Tourism Promotion, the Ministry of Culture and the Egyptian Red Crescent, under the auspices of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).

 

 

 

 

The festive program includes a variety of activities. There will be an exhibition of Islamic heritage, including works of art and heritage books and paintings. It combines the classical and modern style, and clarifies the basic features of Arabic calligraphy, such as symmetry, harmony, word order, composition and good distribution.

 

 

 

 

Moreover, a panorama of Al-Azhar memory, an imaginary tour of Al-Azhar Mosque, and a model of the city of Cairo will also be presented.

 

 

 

 

The activities also includes a performance by the Qena Troupe  on heritage and folklore, accompanied by distinguished Ramadan atmospheres and workshops on Khayamiya, arabesque and Arabic calligraphy, in addition to honoring the symbols of Ramadan icons of the past.

 

 

 

 

The celebration comes on the occasion of choosing Cairo as the capital of Islamic culture for 2022.
