CAIRO – 17 March 2022: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation, launched a new online campaign on various social media platforms, under the title “Follow the Sun,” starting from March 17 and for a period of 8 weeks, to promote the Egyptian tourist spots for the summer 2022 season.
The promotional campaign was launched in a number of major markets exporting tourism to Egypt, namely the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France and the United States of America.
For his part, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation Amr el-Qady indicated that the launch of this campaign coincides with the beginning of the spring season, adding that the campaign targets a number of markets to further enhance tourist movement to Egypt from these markets, especially in summer 2022.
Qadi explained that this campaign focuses on many Egyptian tourist spots located in Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, the Red Sea and Sinai resorts. He also pointed out that the campaign comes in implementation of the media strategy to promote tourism in Egypt through highlighting the Egyptian tourist spots, its distinguished archaeological components, and its vibrant atmosphere.
For her part, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Promotion Lamia Kamel noted that the campaign will be launched on the most used social media platforms in the mentioned markets, namely YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
Kamel added that the campaign's slogan invites tourists to constantly follow the weather, encouraging them to spend their vacations in Egypt to enjoy its warm weather throughout the year, its beautiful scenery, wonderful seas, and its eternal Nile, which has been an integral part of Egypt's pharaonic history and ancient civilization.
Additionally, the campaign sheds light on Egypt's most important eco-tourism features and highlights the Egyptian state's efforts to move towards sustainable tourism.
“Follow the Sun” is a continuation of the online promotional campaigns launched by the ministry earlier in 2022, “Sunny Christmas” and “Sunny January”, which achieved remarkable success on various social media platforms in a number of targeted countries.
The Egyptian tourist spots are promoted on social media through a diverse content, including photos, videos, and publications.
Social media platforms constitute an essential means of the Egyptian tourist spots' branding, and the main mechanism for sharing sponsored content, and inspiring travelers to discover Egypt.
