CAIRO – 16 March 2022: The management of the 23rd Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries & Shorts is holding a special celebration for director Khairy Bishara under the title "Celebrating Beginnings" within the festival's activities. 

 

 

 

 

The festival is set to kick off on March 17 and runs until March 23.

 

 

 

 

It is worth noting that Khairy Bishara started his career as a documentary director and then shifted to fiction cinema. He directed more than 11 social drama films that touched people's hearts and won many local and international awards, becoming one of the pioneers of the Egyptian cinema's new realism generation.

 

 

 

 

The Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries & Shorts is held annually by the National Film Center in Ismailia Governorate. It is one of the oldest festivals in the Arab world and the first Arab festival that specializes in documentaries and short films. The festival’s first edition launched in 1991.
