Egypt allows Ukrainian tourists affected by Russian invasion to proceed with their stay at Egyptian hotels

CAIRO - 25 February 2022: Egypt's Tourism and Antiquities Ministry announced that Ukrainian tourists and other nationals affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine are allowed to extend their stay at Egyptian hotels until they return safely to their countries.

 


 
 

Egypt’s Hotel Association declared this decision on the aftermath of the temporary closure of the Ukraine’s airspace.

 

 

 

Egypt’s Hotel Association issued a directive to all Egyptian hotels to provide  the tourists with all the needed facilities till they  return back to their countries.

South Sinai Hotels Chamber issued a statement to the general managers of hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh to allow all Ukrainian tourists to proceed with their stay at Sharm El-Sheikh hotel especially those who are stranded in Egypt. 

The chamber asked hotel managers to provide the tourists with all the needed help and to deal carefully between the Ukrainian and Russian tourists.

The Embassy of Ukraine shared the directive statements of both Egyptian Hotel Association and South Sinai Hotel Chambers on its official Facebook page asking Ukrainian tourists to use these statements to extend their stay at the Egyptian hotels.

 

 

It is worth mentioning that Egypt is one of the top touristic destinations for Ukrainians with about 1.5 million visiting Egypt in 2019.

Despite the outbreak of COVID-19, almost 727,100 Ukrainian tourists visited Egypt in 2020.
