CAIRO – 7 February 2022: The General Egyptian Book Organization will hold a press conference on February 7 at 4 p.m., to hand over the banner of the 54th edition of the book fair to  the guest state of honor of the 54th Cairo International Book Fair set to be held in 2023.

 

 

 

 

During the press conference, Head of the General Egyptian Book Organization Haitham el-Hag Ali, will announce the country that has been chosen to be the guest of honor for the 54th Cairo International Book Fair.

 

 

 

 

Greece was the guest of honor at the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair, which was launched under the slogan "Egypt's Identity - Culture and the Question of the Future", during the period from January 27 to February 7.

 

 

 

 

Some 1067 Egyptian, Arab and foreign publishers and agencies from 51 countries participated in the book fair.

 

 

 

 

Moreover, the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair was held at the Egypt Center for International Conventions and Exhibitions and Greece was the guest of honor.

 

 

 

 

Writer Yehia Haqi was be the main personality of the book fair. The writer Abdel Tawab Youssef was the main character of the Children’s Book Fair.

 

 

 

 

In this edition, the latest methods of technology and artificial intelligence was used. During the activities, the writer Yehia Haqi appeared with the hologram in an interactive presentation with the audience.

 

 

 

 

Also, children and children's hall-goers watched one of the stories of the late writer Abdel Tawab Youssef through using VR glasses.

 

 

 

 

An award for the Best Arab Publisher was granted for the first time during the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair  and the value of the fair’s prizes increased to L.E. 40,000 instead of L.E. 10,000 in each cultural field.

 

 

 

 

Furthermore, online sale of books was made available on the exhibition’s digital platform and delivery services are provided in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications represented by the Egyptian Post to any place inside Egypt.
