Following a string of hits including her first million views, Reina Khoury releases her new single ‘Ahlami’ which comes with an international deal.

Jordanian artist Reina tackles some powerful topics in ‘Ahlami,’ an “empowering yet vulnerable” song that’s her first sung all in Arabic.

“‘Ahlami” is about the struggles of an independent musician's career, specifically being female and being here in the Middle East, and the powerful mindset that we need to adopt in order to follow through and succeed,” says Reina.

It’s a powerful message that will resonate with many, and it’s given more impact thanks to the stripped back but emotive music on ‘Ahlami.’

‘Ahlami’ is being distributed via Levantine Music and Empire across the world and is set to build on her growing reputation including three other singles.

But delve deeper into Reina’s musical history and especially her Youtube channel, and you find an artist who’s grown organically through her love of mashups, edits and covers. Her Howeh El Hob and Lucid Dreams mashup has well over one million views, while she’s also covered Ed Sheeran and A5rass in her own brilliant style.

Impressively, she’s managed to make every cover and mashup entirely her own. And she’s used that creativity on ‘Ahlami’ which marks her move into 100% Arabic music and lyrics.

And with much, much more to come as Reina ups her release schedule, she hints at some interesting developments in the future.

“I am currently planning on releasing music very consistently, but the future releases are a surprise, an interesting surprise to say the least!”
With restrictions lifting around the world and her music being heard in all corners of the world, Reina is excited about the prospect of taking her music to the people.

“I’m hoping to be able to perform live this year. Nothing feels better than connecting with the audience in person and singing the songs together!”

About Reina Khoury

Being a 90's kid born and raised in Amman, Jordan, my singing style is nostalgic Arabic pop mixed with a strong influence from the Western pop culture. Growing up surrounded by music from different genres in Arabic and English, I always tried to relate and listen closely to the unfolding of a storyline through the lyrics, that’s where I found my interest in songwriting. When writing a song now, I feel there are certain feelings I can’t express unless I say them in Arabic, and vice versa for English, that’s why my music is a mix of both. Each song I put out portrays a specific period or moment in my life that I chose to share with everyone. Collectively, my music is a collection of personal stories that I hope each person listening would resonate with and make their own.
