537 - Construction of the Hagia Sophia cathedral in Constantinople is completed.

 

 

 

 

1875 - The establishment of the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram, the first issue of which was published on August 5, 1876.

 

 

 

 

1934 - Persia changed its name to Iran by government decree.

 

 

 

 

1945 - Sheikh Mustafa Abdel Razek becomes the sheikh of Al-Azhar Mosque.

 

 

 

 

1958 - Egypt and the Soviet Union sign a special agreement on the construction of the first phase of the High Dam.
