French Ambassador to Egypt Marc Baréty tours National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat

CAIRO – 1 December 2021: The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat received French Ambassador to Cairo Marc Baréty.

 

 

 

 

Baréty was received by CEO of the Museum Authority Ahmed Ghoneim and Executive Vice President of the Museum Authority for Management and Operation Firouz Fikri.

Ghoneim welcomed the ambassador and gave him an overview of the museum and its holdings. During the tour, the ambassador visited the Central Exhibition Hall and the Mummies Hall. He also listened to an explanation from Abeer Abu Al-Majd, the museum's chief archaeologist, about the artifacts displayed in the museum and its various halls.

The ambassador expressed his happiness with visiting the museum and his admiration of the displayed unique artifacts, which represent the ancient Egyptian civilization through the ages.

He also commended the museum’s display scenario, noting he was keen to visit the museum to see the royal mummies, which were transferred from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to their permanent display in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

 

 

 

 

This is one of many visits paid by public figures to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat since it received the royal mummies in a solemn procession from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir last April.
