CAIRO – 10 November 2021: Hisham Aslan, the media official at Jesuit Theater, said that Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, will visit Studio Nasibian Theater in Cairo on November 11, with a number of sector heads, to discuss ways to support and contribute to rebuilding the theater.

A fire broke out in the Cairo Jesuit Theater at the end of October 2021, and investigations have yet not revealed its cause, according to the theater officials.

A number of intellectuals, artists and writers had organized a visit to the theater and stressed the need to rebuild it. They said in a press statement that the fire was a painful accident for every Jesuit theater lover, and that they will start a plan to renovate it so that it will once again be a beacon for the Jesuit association and art as a whole.

The Jesuit Theater, better known as Studio Nasibian, is the second oldest studio in Egypt. It was established in 1937.
