CAIRO – 7 November 2021: On November 6, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Enani participated in the inauguration of Al-Fawakher Village in Fustat, after the completion of its development.

Enani was accompanied by Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevin Gamea and Governor of Cairo Khaled Abdel-Aal.

The ministers and the governor inspected the development work in the village and toured the exhibition that was held there to display pottery and ceramic products, where each artist presented their own artwork.

Among the exhibitors was the artist Mohamed Mandour, who made three pottery models that are currently displayed in the Central Exhibition Hall, the Modern Era section of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat.

 

 

 

 

The development work of Al-Fawakher village came to encourage ancient handicrafts. Pottery is one of the oldest Egyptian crafts, having been on this land since the ancient Egyptians.

 

 

 

 

The development work of the village of Al-Fawakher included the installation of an agricultural landscape, and side shelves to place products on them in an aesthetic way, as well as providing environmentally friendly ovens, and connecting all utilities.
