CAIRO  - 18 October 2021: As a continuation of the activities held by the Egyptian pavilion participating in Expo 2020 Dubai, which launched in the beginning of October and will last for 6 months, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lamia Kamel participated in a seminar entitled “Egyptian Tourism: Creating a New Atmosphere for Tourism.”

 

 

 

 

During the symposium, Kamel explained that the tourism sector is one of the most important pillars of the Egyptian economy, as it contributes a large percentage to the gross domestic product and provides direct and indirect job opportunities.

 

 

 

 

She pointed to the diversity of the Egyptian tourist destinations, which combines history and culture with relaxation, adventure and fun, adding that the coming period will witness the promotion of the Egyptian tourist destinations in a new way, in light of the joint cooperation between the private tourism sector and the various government agencies and ministries assigned to the tourism sector in the counter. This comes within the framework of the features of the media strategy for tourism promotion in Egypt.

 

 

 

 

During the symposium, Kamel spoke about the Egyptian state's endeavor to create a new integrated tourism product that provides the tourists with the opportunity to enjoy a unique tourism experience that combines enjoyment, entertainment, culture and the practice of various tourism activities during their visit to Egypt by integrating the beach and leisure tourism product with the cultural tourism product through linking the Nile Valley cities with coastal tourist cities. She also pointed out that airlines that link all the tourist governorates are being developed to achieve such goal.

 

 

 

 

Assistant Minister Lamia Kamel further addressed the promotion of ecotourism, clarifying that it has become one of the most promising tourism patterns around the world, and that the Egyptian state has launched the Eco Egypt campaign to promote eco-tourism and raise the environmental awareness of citizens.

 

 

 

 

Furthermore, Kamel referred to the great success achieved by the tourism promotional initiatives launched by the ministry, which find great approval among social media users, pointing out that social networking sites are one of the important promotional tools.

 

 

 

 

It is worth mentioning that Kamel shed light on the Ministry's digital transformation project.
