Reda Folklore Troupe to perform in El-Balloon Theater on Sept. 30

CAIRO – 30 September 2021: On September 30 at 8 p.m., Reda Folklore Troupe will perform in El-Balloon Theater in Agouza.

The troupe will present numerous folklore performances including “Halawet Shamsena”, “Luxor Baladna”, “Ghareeb El-Dar”, “El-Eskandarani”, among others.

It is worth noting that Reda Troupe was founded by artist Mahmoud Reda in association with the first dancer, designer and music composer of the troupe Ali Reda and the first female dancer Farida Fahmy, with the support of Engineering professor Hassan Fahmy. The troupe’s first performance was held in August 1959. 

In 1961, the troupe became state-owned and was managed by the brothers Mahmoud and Ali Reda. Music composer Ali Ismail formed an orchestra for the troupe under his leadership and composed the troupe’s most famous performances.
