House of Arab Singing to host cultural evening "Abdo Dagher: Genius Talent & Craftsmanship of Creativity” on Sept. 9

CAIRO – 9 September 2021: On Sept. 9 at 7 p.m., the House of Arab Singing at Prince Beshtak Palace  will hold an artistic cultural evening entitled "Abdo Dagher: Genius Talent & Craftsmanship of Creativity”. This comes as part of the Maqamat Salon’s evenings.

 

The Maqamat Salon is prepared by Inas Galal El-Din; it is the idea of ​​the late artist Mohsen Farouk, and is presented by Inam Labib, former dean of the Higher Institute of Arab Music. Labib will speak about Dagher’s artistic career and his impact on oriental and Egyptian music as a pioneering violinist in Egypt and the world.

 

Moreover, the violinist Mohammed Zahir Al-Din and the oud player Muddathir Abu Al-Wafa will present musical compositions from Dagher's works.

 

Abdullah Maghawry Mustafa Dagher, known as Abdo Dagher, was born in Tanta, Gharbia Governorate, in 1936. His musical compositions have been played in many international theaters.

 

Dagher received an honorary doctorate from the University of Geneva, he received the first prize in the Peoples Festival in the Netherlands in 1999 and his music was printed by the Dutch government.
