Egypt’s star Medhat Saleh to perform at Salah El Din Citadel Festival for Music and Singing on August 30

CAIRO - 9 August 2021:Egyptian star Medhat Saleh to perform at Salah El Din Citadel Festival for Music and Singing on August 30.

 

 Saleh performed at Bibliotheca Alexandrina on July 24 as part of the concerts of the 19th edition of the International Summer Festival.

Saleh performed at Cairo Opera House on February 13.

 

Salah participated at 18th International Summer Festival on August, 2020 with a concert at Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Saleh was born in 1960 in Cairo's Shobra district. He started his musical career directly after he graduated from Cairo University.

He released his first song, entitled “Akeed” (Sure), in the 1980s.

He performed his song “Ya Greed el-Nakhl el-Aly” (O High Palm Leaves) in front of former Egyptian President Hosny Mubarak in the mid-1980s, and the song achieved booming success, placing Saleh among the top singers at that time.

Throughout his career that extended for more than 30 years, Saleh has been famous for performing the songs of the most successful movies such as "Habiby Ya Ashek" in “Short w Fanla w Cap” (Shorts, a T-shirt and a Hat) movie, "El Nour Makano Fel Qoloob" (Light Belongs to the Hearts) from “Amir el Zalam” (The Prince of Darkness) movie, and “La Hatakhod Eih” (What Will You Gain?) from the movie "Mafia", among others.rticipated at 18th International Summer Festival on August, 2020 with a concert at Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem will inaugurate on August 15 the Salah El Din Citadel Festival for Music and Singing.

 
Organized by Cairo Opera House, the festival will run until August 30, presenting 31 various concerts by Egyptian and Arab countries in this year’s edition. 


The honoring will be followed by Chinese shows and folklore songs presented by Chinese youth and children as well as a concert by the singer Shaker. 

This year the festival’s line-up includes Hany Shaker, Ali el Haggar, Hisham Abbass, Hala Roushdy, Nesma Mahgoub among others.

It is worth mentioning that the festival in 2018 has been granted with an international badge for the first time.
