‘Banat Afkari’ art exhibition for Magda Ali to be inaugurated on August 10

CAIRO – 5 August 2021: Head of the Plastic Arts Sector Khaled Sorour, will inaugurate the exhibition "Banat Afkari" for plastic artist Magda Ali, on August 10 at 7 p.m. at Al-Bab Selim Hall of the Museum of Egyptian Modern Art at the Egyptian Opera House, under the auspices of Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem.

 

 

 

 

About the exhibition, Magda Ali said that it embodies an idea in her conscience, as she sees that the souls travels during sleep, roams familiar and unknown places, meets souls who have died or is alive, meets strangers and close ones, and returns to real life after its awakening, loaded with stories and pictures. The artist is trying to simulate  all those feelings in artwork.

 

 

 

 

The exhibition includes 35 oil paintings on canvas of different sizes. It will be held from August 10 to August 21 and will receive visitors daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., except on Fridays.

 

 

 

 

The plastic artist Magda Ali obtained a Doctorate of Philosophy in Art - Fine Art Criticism, with first honors, from the Institute of Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts. Ali is also a researcher at the Master's level, Department of Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of African Graduate Studies, Cairo University.
