CAIRO – 2 August 2021: The office of the General Egyptian Authority for Tourism Promotion in the city of Arish organized a three-day trip for 25 outstanding students from North Sinai Governorate to visit the tourist and archaeological sites in Cairo.

This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ keenness to raise tourism and archaeological awareness for all segments of society, and in line with the “Know Your Country” initiative launched by the ministry in December 2020 to stimulate domestic tourism and raise tourism and archaeological awareness among all segments of society.

Head of the Central Department of Internal Tourism at the authority Iman Mahmoud indicated that the trip’s program included a visit to the Baron Empain Palace, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Salah El-Din Citadel, Mohammad Ali Mosque, the Complex of Religions, the Museum of Islamic Art, the Hussein area, Khan Al-Khalili and the Giza Pyramids.

Mahmoud pointed out that students were given a detailed explanation of the history and architecture of these archaeological monuments.

During the trip, the students expressed appreciation of the state’s keenness to organize such an educational program to enrich their experiences and raise their awareness.

It is worth mentioning that the General Egyptian Authority for Tourism Promotion organizes regular tours for citizens from all the Egyptian governorates to visit the Egyptian tourist attractions, aiming to raise the cultural and tourism awareness among all segments of society.
