Egypt’s Sameh Alaa serves as jury members of the Short Films competition at Cannes International Film Festival

CAIRO - 5 July 2021: Cannes International Film Festival continues to unveil the facets of its 74th edition by announcing the jury members of the Short Films and the Cinéfondation Film School competitions, who will be awarding the Short Film Palme d'or to the winning film.

 
The jury includes Egyptian director Sameh Alaa, director of Egypt’s first Palme d’or winning film, I Am Afraid to Forget Your Face.
 
The film had its MENA premiere and was awarded El Gouna Star for Best Arab Short Film at the 4th edition of GFF.
 
Also Cannes International Film Festival announced among the jury members; Tunisian auteur Kaouther Ben Hania, director of GFF’s 4th El Gouna Star for Best Arab Narrative winner The Man Who Sold His Skin.
