CAIRO – 14 June 2021: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem launched the activities of the 8th Festival of Drums and Heritage Arts headed by the artist Intisar Abdel Fattah, which is held under the slogan “Drums Dialogue for Peace”.

 

 

 

 

The festival runs until June 18. The festival is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Ministries of Antiquities and Tourism, Youth and Sports, Cairo Governorate and a number of sectors of the Ministry of Culture, national entities and the Hewar Foundation.

 

 

 

 

Colombia and South Sudan are the festival’s guests of honor. The festival’s activities are held  at the Bir Youssef Theater in Salah El-Din Castle.

 

 

 

The opening activities were attended by many ambassadors and representatives of the participating countries.

 

 

 

 

It is noteworthy that the 8th International Festival of Drums and Heritage Arts is attended by 30 bands from the participating countries, namely Egypt - Syria - Colombia - the Philippines - Indonesia - Sudan - South Sudan - Bangladesh - Pakistan - Yemen - the Democratic Republic of the Congo - Palestine and some foreign communities residing in Egypt.
