CAIRO-7 July 2017: The well-known Tunisian singer Lotfi Bouchnak joined Syrian refugees’ music band, singing with them in the streets of Istanbul to encourage them and promote their performance to gain more money from passersby.
Tunisians and Syrians frequently circulated Bouchnak and the Syrian Refugees band’s video on social media. Bouchnak appeared in the video singing part of a song with enthusiasm beside the Syrian band in Istiklal Street, a famous elegant pedestrian street in Istanbul .



After he finished singing, Bushnak collected money from spectators in a basket. On the main streets of Istanbul, there are several Syrian bands performing to the passersby Aleppo’s songs to obtain some money, after the war conditions forced them to resort to Turkey.

Bouchnak , a singer, Oud player, and composer, he is the most famous Tunisian name in classical music, that he was dubbed Tunisia's Pavarotti. Bouchnak was selected in 2004 to be the UN Ambassador of world peace.

As an avid admirer of Egyptian music, Bouchnak used to be a regular performer at the Cairo Opera House.
