CAIRO - 27 May 2021: (MENA) Egypt’s Immigration Minister Nabila Makram said on Thursday an Egyptian Heritage Month in Canada will be held under the sponsorship of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli as an important event aiming at getting the Canadian community acquainted with the Egyptian civilization and cultural legacy.

It is also an important step to highlight Egypt's pivotal role throughout the ages and its great contribution to humanity since the dawn of time, Makram said.

Madbouli's sponsoring of such events reflects the Egyptian state's belief in the effective role played by Egyptian communities abroad to serve their homeland, she added.

Over the past few years, the Egyptian community in Canada played an effective role that was crowned by proclaiming the month of July every year as Egyptian Heritage Month.

Makram expressed her ministry's full support of such events, saying necessary coordination is being held with ministries concerned to make the best use of these events to promote Egypt.

The Legislative Assembly of Ontario has approved a resolution to recognize July of every year as the Egyptian Heritage Month in the province.
