CAIRO – 27 April 2021: Head of Egypt’s National Organization for Urban Harmony Mohammed Abu Saada, Italian Ambassador to Egypt Giampaolo Cantini and Director of the Italian Cultural Institute launched the exhibition of creations of Italian architects in Egypt.

The exhibition was held by the National Organization for Urban Coordination, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Egypt, and comes as part of the celebrations of the World Heritage Day, which runs until April 28 in Cairo Opera House’s El-Hanager Arts Center.

The head of the National Organization for Urban Harmony explained that the idea of the exhibition comes to highlight the impact of Italian urbanism and Italian architects on Egyptian urbanism.

Urbanization reflected the extent to which the Egyptian culture was influenced by the Italian culture, as the Italian architects have their imprint on Egypt’s palaces, most notably El-Montazah Palace and Ras El-Tin in Alexandria, which were designed by architect Ernesto Frucci.

The exhibition was attended by many public figures, media professionals, architects and members of the Italian community in Egypt, who expressed their great admiration of the exhibition.
