CAIRO – 13 April 2021: Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities to control hotel facilities, shops, and tourist activities Abdel Fattah Al-Assi made an inspection visit to South Sinai, during which he held meetings with a number of owners of diving centers and marine activities to identify the problems and obstacles facing them, especially during the past period, and work to solve them in full cooperation and coordination with all concerned authorities.

 

 

 

For his part, Al-Assi indicated that work will be made to develop a mechanism to solve these problems as soon as possible, stressing the ministry's keenness to provide all facilities to the investors to end all services through the ministry's office in the governorate instead of Cairo, explaining that this comes in light of the ministry’s plan to implement decentralization, in an effort by the ministry to facilitate for the investors, in the context of the offices providing all services in the governorates.

 

 

 

Al-Assi added that during the visit, he visited the ministry's office in the governorate to work on preparing it so that the office could fully play its role and then provide services to investors in this area, whether for hotels, restaurants, diving centers or marine activities.

 

 

 

During the visit, many meetings were held with the concerned authorities to coordinate regarding overcoming obstacles facing various tourism activities. 

 

 

 

During his visit, Al-Assi reviewed the results of the work of the committees that pass and inspect the hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh to ensure that all hotels apply health safety controls and precautionary measures, indicating that occupancy rates in hotel establishments have improved considering the state's measures to restore movement tourism, as well as the supervisory role of the ministry to ensure that all hotel establishments apply all precautionary measures.

 

 

 

It is worth noting that Abdel Fattah Al-Assi, during his visit to South Sinai, participated on behalf of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities in the tour that the Minister of Environment and the Governor of South Sinai made, and the conference they held in Dahab in light of the Ministry of Environment’s initiative not to use plastic bags and replace them with paper or cardboard bags or cloth due to the importance of this issue and its link to the preservation of natural resources, coral reefs and the cleanliness of the seabed, as plastic materials harm the environment and natural resources in the governorate.

 

 

 

Cooperation has also been made by the ministry in the implementation mechanism of the water and reserves management plan at the Ministry of Environment to preserve the natural resources in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh, especially the Ras Mohammed reserve, and a good mechanism has been set up to ensure the preservation of these resources and not to harm them in light of the set plan, in line with the state’s directives on the necessity of coordination with all the concerned authorities to reach the optimum utilization and preservation of resources.

 

 

They also made many field trips to the natural reserves in the governorate to discuss the optimal utilization of these resources.
