CAIRO – 8 April 2021: Lamasat Art Gallery will organize an exhibition entitled “Kemet”, meaning “Egypt The Dark Land”, on April 12 at 6 p.m.

The exhibition is a collective group of fine and applied artists from Egypt and the Arab world, who will participate to display their artworks and handicrafts.

Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziry will attend the opening, and the exhibition is scheduled to continue until April 17.

“When we speak about the Egyptian identity, we are talking about a group of civilizational classes that have accumulated on top of each other and formed for us in the end this distinct Egyptian identity. We are talking about civilizational classes that start with the Pharaonic, Greek, Roman, Coptic and finally the Arabic civilization. These civilizational classes interacted with each other. The Egyptian identity was able to assimilate all of them and added to each civilized class a feature of its own. We can say that the Egyptian identity has Egyptianized all the civilization classes that passed through it, so that every incoming civilized class took a pure Egyptian characteristic,” stated Lamasat Art Gallery in an official statement.
