CAIRO – 25 March 2021: As part of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ plan to promote the ancient Egyptian civilization and the various tourist and archaeological destinations that characterize Egypt, the Pyramids of Giza, Saqqara and the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir hosted the crew of “Mistral”; the French amphibious helicopter carrier as a part of their visit to Egypt, which lasted for nearly five days.

 

 

 

The crew members toured the Giza Pyramids archeological site, where they visited the Great Pyramids, the Panorama area and the Sphinx area. They were keen to take  a number of memorial photos. They expressed their happiness with the visit, to the most important landmarks of the ancient Egyptian civilization, as the Great Pyramid is one of the remaining wonders of the ancient world.

They also visited the Saqqara archeological site. They expressed their great admiration of the place in which they said they visited two days in a row; visiting the Pyramid of Djoser, the Amphitheater and the Serapeum, the Tomb of Mereruca and the Pyramid of Teti.

 

 

In the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, the visit of the French crew lasted nearly two hours. They visited King Tutankhamun’s Hall and observed the museum’s main pieces such as Narmer’s artifact, the statue of Kaaper, known as the statue of “Sheikh El-Balad” and other important pieces. They also expressed their great admiration for the exhibits and the historical museum building.

 

 

 

These visits were carried out with all precautionary and hygiene safety measures implemented.
