CAIRO - 24 February 2021: Finance Minister Mohamed Maait has denied reports about imposing a new tax on the sale of real estate.

In a press release on Wednesday, the minister said the tax imposed on the sale of real estate was reduced from 5 percent to 2.5 percent in 1996 to lift the burden on the citizens.

He added that all real estate and housing units in villages are exempted from the real estate sale tax until July 25, 2018.
