Petroleum minister probes cooperation with Palestinian investment fund chief in energy sector

CAIRO - 21 February 2021: Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek el Molla had talks Sunday with Palestinian Presidential Economic Adviser and Board Chairman of the Palestinian Investment Fund Mohamed Moustafa on means of boosting cooperation in the domains of energy and mineral resources, especially natural gas.


This came during their meeting at the Palestinian presidency headquarters in Ramallah which was attended by Palestinian energy authority chief Zafer Melhem, according to a press release by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
 

The meeting was convened following Molla's talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during which he expressed appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s continued support to the Palestinian cause , noting that Mollah’s visit to Ramallah and the signing of a joint memo of understanding is an important step toward promoting cooperation in the fields of energy.
 

Talks between the two sides covered the development of Gaza gas field and reaching a radical solution to the energy crisis in the Gaza Strip as well as cooperation within the framework of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum.
