CAIRO - 8 January 2020: The stage is now set for expanding the national project to use natural gas as vehicle fuel in light of the increase of local production of natural gas along with the support offered by the presidency and the government and the efforts of several bodies concerned in the state to that effect, said Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq el Mulla.

The state bodies in charge are cooperating to provide the required financing and permits to build filling stations, Mulla added during an expanded meeting with a number of heads of petroleum companies, held to discuss all required measures to speed up the implementation of President Abdel Fattah el Sisi's initiative for upping the natural gas usage as part of the national project to expand using the gas as vehicle fuel.

Mulla said in statements on Thursday that the chance is now available to do business and provide citizens with good services through initiatives which contribute to capitalizing on state-of-the-art technologies and honing skills of cadres.

The minister said integration is boosted with natural gas companies working in converting cars to run on natural gas to promote natural gas-powered vehicles.
