CAIRO - 20 December 2020: Trade and Industry Minister Neveen Gamea on Sunday said preparations are underway for organizing the first exhibition on the technology of vehicles conversion to natural gas, which is set to be launched in January under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

 
Major automotive firms operating in Egypt and manufacturing natural gas vehicles will take part in the expo alongside key agents and importers of bi-fuel vehicles, the banking apparatus represented by a number banks as well the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA).
 
 
This came is statement issued by the Trade Ministry about Gamea's meeting with 40 heads and representatives of major companies manufacturing vehicles and agents of international companies to discuss preparations for the exhibition, in the presence of Federation of Industries Chairman Mohamed Zaki el Sewedy.
 
 
The event will see the launching of the presidential initiative on natural gas vehicle transformation that aims at improving the living standards of citizens, supporting the natural industries, tapping into Egypt's latest natural gas discoveries along with backing state's approach on using natural gas instead of gasoline, Gamea said.
 
 
The expo targets raising awareness about the the economic and environment benefits of switching to natural gas as well the funding programs seeking to help people in undertaking the conversion to natural gas, the minister added.
