CAIRO - 4 November 2020: International Cooperation Minister Rania el-Mashat said on Tuesday that her ministry has classified projects, worth dlrs 25 billion, within its current portfolio in accordance with the sustainable development goals with the view to drawing up a clear-cut map for projects as per each goal.

Addressing the 23rd annual conference of the Arab Women Investors Union (AWIU), held in Galala city, under the theme "Arab and African investment and international cooperation," Mashat pointed out that the new cities' projects boost economic growth opportunities.

The Galala Mountain Project, being established in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives, aims to create a new development community, Mashat said, adding these projects will secure nearly 150,000 direct and indirect jobs.

She underlined the International Cooperation Ministry's efforts to empower women through joint cooperation programs with development partners, citing the "Closing Gender Gap Accelerator", which is the first of its kind in the Middle East and Africa.

In July, the International Cooperation Ministry, the National Council for Women (NCW), and the World Economic Forum (WEF) launched the "Closing the Gender Gap Accelerator," a national public-private collaboration model that allows governments and businesses to take decisive action to close economic gender gaps
