CAIRO - 18 October 2020: Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir, Public Business Sector Minister Hesham Tawfik, and Trade and Industry Minister Nevin Gamea discussed on Saturday mechanisms of implementing the political leadership's directives to develop the Egyptian trade fleet.

The meeting falls within the framework of a comprehensive plan to develop the Egyptian maritime transport system, carried out by the Transport Ministry.

The ministers probed ways of opening new markets as well as the timetable for studying global trends in the management and operation of ships and shipping lines.

The talks also tackled the needs of the African and European markets.

Wazir affirmed that each ministry should conduct a study to search for the best ways and mechanisms to implement presidential directives in this respect, adding more meetings should be held to come up with an accurate study.

The study should include solutions for all problems related to maritime transport, Wazir pointed out.

Meanwhile, Gamea said that developing the Egyptian trade fleet will have a positive impact on increasing the exports and operating the factories at their full capacity.
