Egypt’s imports of coffee decline by $1.7M compared to last year

CAIRO – 30 September 2020: As the world celebrates the International Coffee Day on October 1st, which falls on Thursday, Egypt’s imports of Coffee has witnessed a slight decline during the past period.

Data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) shows that the total imports of Coffee by Egypt, both unroasted and non-decaffeinated coffee, recorded 7.6 million dollars in June 2020. This figure showed a decline by 1.7 million dollars, compared to the imports’ volume in June 2019, which recorded 9.3 million dollars.  

Egypt’s imports of unroasted coffee amounted to about 8.7 million dollars in May.

CAPMAS data previously showed a significant decline in Egypt’s imports of tea, coffee, tobacco and smoke papers.

While tea imports recorded 14.2 million dollars last April, compared to 17.7 million dollars in April 2019.
