CAIRO – 24 September 2020: The French Ambassador to Cairo Stephane Romate praised Egypt’s recent great discoveries of natural gas off the Egyptian coasts.

 

He stressed that Egypt has great ambitions to become a regional energy hub.

 

In TV statements, he explained that Egypt has become an active and important player at the regional level in the fields of oil and natural gas.

 

“The Egyptian market in oil and natural gas has become the largest in the Mediterranean region,” he added.

 

He continued, “France is keenly interested in the momentum resulting from the East Mediterranean Gas Forum, which will allow countries in the region to develop several forms of cooperation in the fields of oil and natural gas.”

 

Regarding French companies’ interest to invest in Egypt, French Ambassador to Cairo said “we hope that French companies will be interested in what is happening here in Egypt.”
