Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi meets with Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli and Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea

CAIRO – 21 September 2020: Meeting with Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli and Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi urged the government to facilitate contracting procedures for owning units at the industrial complex across the nation.

 

Sisi directed the government, during the meeting, to cancel or reduce fees in some contract clauses, in a bid to back young investors in small and medium enterprises, provide job opportunities and promote local production, the Presidency said in a statement on Monday.



The meeting discussed key axes of the industry ministry projects, especially regarding efforts to enhance local production and achieve benefit from industrial complexes across the country and the national programs to increase exports.


During the meeting, Gamea reviewed the current executive status in relation to the establishment of industrial complexes spread across the country, the basic criteria set for selecting the targeted industrial activities - which are mainly based on providing direct and indirect job opportunities - in addition to the competitive components, capabilities and advantages of governorates.

She also reviewed her ministry’s program to boost exports and financial allocations, especially with regard to opening new markets in Africa through investment projects that could be established in coordination with the ministries and authorities concerned.

The meeting tackled promoting Egyptian investments in Africa, including marble and granite products produced at Galala complex, in addition to transferring technology, and increasing trade exchange with African countries, at the bilateral and regional levels.

In this regard, Sisi directed the government to provide all means of support with regard to increasing Egyptian exports to African markets according to their needs, particularly as regards removing logistical obstacles, and facilitating the shipment of exports.
