CAIRO – 19 September 2020: Mohamed Farid Khamis, Chairman of Oriental Weavers, passed away on Saturday at the age of 80 in the United States of America after a long illness, announced the Egyptian Federation of Investors Associations (EFIA) in a statement.
 
In March 2019, Khamis received bt100 Crystal Award by Egypt’s leading economics magazine Business Today in recognition of his leadership and impact on business growth in Egypt.
 
 
The Oriental Weavers is an Egypt-based company that is principally engaged in the production and sale of machine-woven carpets and rugs for the residential, commercial, and hospitality industries.
 
The Company offers various lines of area rugs, as well as manufactures woven goblins and tapestries.
 
The Company operates through its subsidiaries including Oriental Weavers USA Inc., Oriental Weavers International, Oriental Weavers Fibers Company, Egyptian Fiber Company (EFCO), Oriental Weaves China, New Mac, EFCO Modern Fiber, and MAC Carpet.
