CAIRO - 10 August 2020: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Minister of Agriculture el Sayyed el Qasir inked a cooperation protocol via video conference to implement a joint project to develop the technological infrastructure of the Ministry of Agriculture.


The two-year duration protocol aims at activating the applications of information technology as a main engine to develop electronic services presented to the workers in the agricultural sector and remove the administrative obstacles.

The protocol comes within the framework of the the Ministry of Communications' role to empower the sectors of the state to achieve digital transformation and build advanced technologies, Talaat said.

The protocol aims at activating information technology in the systems of managing and analyzing data, he said.

It will contribute to improving the decision making operation, increasing productivity and maintaining resources, he added.

It includes establishing a website for the content of the Agriculture Ministry and mechanizing the services of the ministry.

The protocol works on increasing the efficiency of rationalizing irrigation water consumption via analyzing the different data using the technologies of artificial intelligence, he said.

Meanwhile, Qasir said that the protocol helps in applying the digital transformation and mechanizing agricultural services to all the activities related to agriculture in addition to benefiting from the expertise of the Ministry of Communications.
